Race Course

Swim course description:

The swim will follow two short loops of a triangular course in Penn Lake. The lake is shallow and is quite protected from the wind so waves will not be an issue.

Bike course description:

Leaving the transition zone the bike course proceeds on municipal roads. All roads are paved and shoulders are mostly gravel. Intersections are barricaded and manned by volunteers. After the first 3 K cyclists will encounter the longest climb proceeding to the first turnaround at the5 K mark. This is followed by the descent into town. There are a number of well marked turns through residential streets leading toward the 10 K. After the second turnaround you return passing by the transition zone and continuing along portions of the run route. This section includes a short challenging climb, the third turnaround, and a number of technical turns before the descent to the transition zone. 5 K markers will be placed along the bike route.

Run course description:

Leaving the transition zone the run course proceeds on municipal roads. The course moves from flat to slight incline to an increasing grade of hill, returning in the opposite order (downhill, slight downhill, flat) and is followed by an out and back on flat pavement.
