The first race, the scary one, not just for the competitors but for the organizers as well. We were pleased to have the suport of OAT from the very outset and his gave us the confidence to put on a safe and fun event. Rollin Thunder Bikes and Skis came on board as our event sponsor and the Town of Marathon provided us with "seed" money to get the event off the ground. 

We worked hard to get the message out about the event and were able to convince a small contingent of participants from Thunder Bay to join in as well as a few from Ottawa, Manitouwadge, and Toronto.

People were excited about the technical turns on the bike course as well as the 2.5km ascent and descent near the beginning of the bike.
