We have had great success with volunteers for our events. The spirit of community is alive and well in Marathon. Like many other small town triathlons our greatest challenge for the future will be in the area of volunteer replacement as our current volunteers begin to see how much fun it could be to participate. We expect that at least two or three of our 2007 volunteers will be racing in 2008. With that in mind we have even created a category for VOLUNTEER in our online registraton page. Don't be shy if you are from out-of-town. We would still like to have you involved in the Penn Lake Pursuit.

Local stand-up comic and all around cool guy David Atkinson was on the mic through two days of announcements and had plenty of time to have fun with the kids. Sean Aiken of ONEWWEEKJOB.COM was our honorary race director working with our community to raise funds for Make Poverty History. Be sure to check out what Sean is doing now.
